Graphics

PosterUniversity of Birmingham, 1965-8; four chemical engineering undergraduates formed the Arcadian Society, with Spike Milligan as our President. One aim of  the society was to promote interest in graphic art, and I created posters for several productions of the Guild Theatre Group. We even took part in one production as a music hall turn ‘The Arcadian Fun Compendium’.  We also created the book ‘Robin Soak’. At the 1966 Freshers’ Conference we had a stand among all the other societies but we wouldn’t tell anyone how to join.

Natural

The Village Pump was a satirical magazine of no known authorship appearing from time to time over my 26 years at Yorkshire Water. This was an opportunity to use Robert Crumb’s Mr Natural character in a series of comics poking fun at people and events in the water industry of those years.
